IHL Sessions at La Sagesse Universty in Lebanon
16 October 2025On 15 October 2025, the IHL Centre – Middle East conducted two interactive sessions at La Sagesse University’s Faculty of Law as part of the Legal Clinic’s training program.
The sessions, held in both French and English, introduced students to the fundamental principles and conventions of International Humanitarian Law (IHL). Through real-life examples and case discussions, students explored how IHL operates in practice to protect civilians and those no longer taking part in hostilities during armed conflicts.
In total, around 50 students attended the sessions, which opened new horizons for participants and inspired them to further engage with IHL and its relevance to contemporary legal and humanitarian challenges.
This initiative reflects the Centre’s continued commitment to strengthening IHL knowledge among future legal professionals and promoting the understanding of humanitarian principles in academic settings.
