Diakonia is looking for an IT strategist who wants to work primarily strategically but also operatively in leading and developing the IT area in a global aid organization. Our principals are the Christian denominations the Swedish Alliance Mission and the Uniting Church in Sweden. Diakonia has 23 offices in the world with more than 250 employees. The IT strategist will join the Administrative Department which consists of the functions of Finance, Administration and IT, and reports to the Administrative Director.
The IT strategist will work independently but also in close cooperation with the IT administrator for business systems as well as the focal points with responsibility for IT issues at Diakonia's regional- and country offices. The focus of the position is new within the organization, which means that you have the chance to participate in designing it from start.
Role & responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate the strategic IT work and develop Diakonia's global IT infrastructure
Responsible for making sure that the IT environment meets the needs of the organization
Follow and keeping abreast with the latest development and future trends within information technology
Develop and follow up on IT policies and steering documents
Responsible for making sure that IT support functions are in place and accessible for all staff
Develop and implement a global IT security plan
Lead the organization’s transition to Microsoft Office 365
Cooperate and coordinate with the operational IT support center at head office
Responsible for the contact with suppliers and consultants within the field as well as, when necessary, lead requirement, procurement and contract procedures
Actively contribute to the organizations learning and development within the area.
Relevant academic degree (or equivalent skills obtained in another way) - A minimum of 5 years of documented experience of similar assigmnents
Good strategic capability - Good pedagocical skills
Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Swedish. French, Arabic and/or Spanish is a merit
Excellent knowledge of and experience from IT security and Microsoft 365
Experience from working in a global structure

Location: Alvik, Stockholm with travels to Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America
