Process Leader to Diakonias International Department
Do you want to lead central processes in an international organization that makes a difference? Diakonia is now looking for a Process Leader to lead our global civil-society strengthening program and to develop our international operations.
Diakonia is a Swedish non-profit and independent organization for international development cooperation and humanitarian assistance. The basis for our work is people’s will to improve and change the world. Our focus areas are human rights, democracy, and gender equity.
Role & responsibilities:
As Process Leader you will manage the Sida-funded global program to support civil society, running during 2021-2025 in over 20 countries with a total budget of over 850 million SEK. This entails:
Lead and coordinate the support to and quality assurance of the global program, involving Diakonia staff from across the organization.
To be overall responsible for the grants management, monitoring, reporting, and learning of the programme.
Maintain and develop the relation with Sida-CivSam.
You will also lead, develop and coordinate internal processes that:
Enable Diakonia’s international department, including country and regional programs, to make the most of our new global strategy.
Facilitate strategic change in our international programs.
Promote systematic planning, monitoring, and learning in our international programs and operations.
Your work puts people at the centre and is adapted to the contexts where we operate. In doing this you sustain a human rights-based approach and the perspective of people living in poverty. You collaborate closely with Diakonia staff in the countries where we operate and in Sweden, as well as with back-donor representatives.
Experience & qualifications:
We are looking for an experienced process leader and global program manager. To be successful in the role we believe that you have:
Over 8 years experience in development work, including international postings.
Experience in program and grants management and donor relations.
Experience in leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams and complex processes.
Experience in working with and strengthening civil society.
Experience in strategy planning and operational development.
You speak and write English and Swedish fluently.
As a person you are a solution oriented and creative team player who values quality.
This is a plus:
Experience in working with gender justice, democracy, and human rights.
Proficiency in Spanish, French, Arabic or Portuguese.
An exciting job in which you get the opportunity to influence Diakonia´s global work as part of an international team in an organization that makes a difference.
