Five years ago Baghdad Boys in Kisumu district in Kenya were a gang that spread fear and communicated with violence. Today, with the support from Diakonia, the violent youths call themselves "Baghdad for Peace" instead and has been transformed to peace makers. The group arrange peace building forums in the slum areas, have been trained in election campaign observation and their work has been very important in the disturbances connected with the latest election. The group has also been instrumental in helping with data collection to identify the internally displaced persons and those affected in various ways. Some of the good fruits of this initiative are
