Why does it cost money to mediate aid?5 percent of Diakonia's overall financial turnover is used for administration (2011). Some of the resources used for administration go to salaries and office rents. Others are used to cover costs for planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of our work. Costs for fundraising in Sweden2 percent of the annual turnover is used for fundraising activities in Sweden (2011). Thanks to an agreement with the Swedish Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), Diakonia gets additional funding (up to nine SEK*) for each SEK donated to us. This means that a donation to Diakonia's work is often multiplied several times!
* SEK is the abbreviation of the Swedish currency
