Festival focusing on disability

This year (2013), the festival hosted a group of many outstanding Arab and International groups under the slogan “To be Different is Normal”. The main focus was on people with disabilities, and it was hosted by two groups of disabled men and women dancers.

Dialogue and cultural exchange

Ramallah Contemporary Dance Festival is annually organized by First Ramallah Group. It is an artistic festival specialized in contemporary dance and was first held in 2006. The festival aims at enhancing dialogue and cultural exchange between the Palestinians and the people of the world. It also aims at introducing a variety of contemporary dances to the Palestinian people and developing the capabilities of those who work in the field of dance in Palestine.

Future dance training

After the festival, First Ramallah Group plans to start a project which will focus on training disabled youth on the technique of dance, support them to form a dance group and integrate them with other local dance groups.
