Ability to play - ability to live

Al-Salam Sports Club for Persons with Disabilities conducts trainings for women with disabilities within its project “Ability to play….Ability to live” which is funded by Diakonia. The club believes in the right of disabled women to play sports whether basketball or table tennis or even athletics.

Aims to include disabled in sport activities

This activity is part of a two yearlong project that is being implemented in an aim to achieve mainstreaming in sport activities. The coach; Ms. Hana’ Abu Mu’lek ensured that women with disabilities are getting better and progressing. Additionally; one of the team players; Muna khattab mentioned that all players are interested in participating in different championships locally and internationally and are requesting the support of the Palestinian Paralympic movement especially for the sports which concerns the disabled.

Team players are improving

Mr. Mohamad Al-Arabi; Head of Al-Salam Sports Club through his speech thanked Diakonia/NAD for their continuous support and wished that other donor organizations show more interest in the sports which concerns the disabled and which is considered a cornerstone for the overall inclusion.  Moreover, he ensured that the team players are improving, and hopes that the borders are open again so that they have the chance to participate in different tournaments all over the world.
