Greenhouse gas emissions caused by humans have a major impact on the climate. It is mainly people in the rich part of the world who have created and continue to create the problems, but effects of climate change have their worst impact on men and women living in poverty. This makes climate change one of the most important justice issues of our time. Poor people’s right to development must be respected alongside tackling climate change.

The fact sheet can be used by teachers and students, but also as part of seminars or courses by civil society organizations.
